3 Weeks Left!

We are getting so close to meeting Emma Grace! Even though I'm quite expecting her to overstay her due date, I'm still excited that every day is a day closer to holding her and taking her home! I think she's getting ready to come, too. She's starting to settle down a little and not be quite so vigorously active (although she still moves often). And she seems to be feeling cramped inside of me; all day, I get little elbow and knee jabs as she shifts position.

We saw the doctor on Monday. He couldn't find her heartbeat at first because she had switched sides on him. Little trickster. He said that there's no dilation so far, but he did feel her little head! I thought that was pretty neat.

This week, Emma Grace is 37 weeks old and that means she is considered full-term! No more worries about having a preemie baby. She should weigh approximately 6 1/2 lbs. right now, but who really knows? This week she's all about practicing skills for life outside me - breathing, sucking her thumb, blinking, and moving.

That's about all for this week! We've started the waiting game now. I've begun to think about packing a hospital bag and we've purchased a few final things for baby, including cloth diaper detergent, cloth inserts, nursing items, and a few other things. We had a shower last Saturday; below are a couple pictures from that one. Also, there's a picture of my 36-week belly!

Such a cute cake!
