A Week (And Then Some...)

Emma Grace is nine days old! It's hard to believe she's been here that long. She is such a sweet and life-changing addition to our little family.

We had our first doctor visit last Monday, and our second last Wednesday.  Emma Grace got a good report; her weight has stabilized and she should start gaining now.  We go for our 2-week check-up this Friday.

Emma Grace had her first stroller ride on Friday. She seemed to enjoy it (she slept through the entire ride), so we're planning on taking more of those soon.

We can tell that our little girl is developing nicely. She has started gripping things with her hands and she can focus on things close to her face when she is very awake. Now, if only she would start sleeping through the night...

Our nights haven't been terrible. The first couple of days home from the hospital were rough, but she has quieted down considerably and has times where she is awake and happy.  We're able to put her in her pack 'n' play to sleep for naps and sometimes at night, which is great for mom! It gives me time to take a shower. If you see Jacob or I and we seem dazed, it's just because of the lack of sleep. We aren't trying to be unfriendly; we're just sleep deprived. Hopefully in a few weeks we'll seem less like zombies.

We love our little pumpkin very much.  Today was her first holiday, and we celebrated with family. She has slept through most of the day, but she seems happy.  We'll try to update with news of our girl when we can -- Internet is spotty at our house.  Here are some pictures of our sweetie:

Start her out right...
