4-Month Doctor Visit

Emma Grace had her 4-month doctor visit yesterday! She has almost doubled her birth weight--13 lbs., 14 oz. She is 25 inches long. She also got shots, but they didn't seem to bother her very much. She slept on the way home from the doctor and by afternoon was bouncing around in her jumperoo. Sweet baby!

Update: I forgot to add this funny Emma Grace story:

Last night, I was feeding her zucchini (first time). We have tried an array of fruits and vegetables and so far she has eaten them all without complaint. But I guess zucchini was asking too much. I gave her a spoonful, and she immediately stuck out her tongue and started making this sound: Ack! Ack! I thought she was choking, so I paused and checked her breathing; she was fine and quickly stopped the noise, so we resumed eating. Next bite, she did the same thing! And the bite after that, she put her head back and shook it and opened her eyes wide, all the while going Ack! Ack!

I started realizing that she wasn't choking but making a statement: Mom, I don't like this. So then I decided to try feeding her carrots (which she has been eating for weeks with no problem). She did the same thing, and then pushed the carrots out of her mouth. Once they were out, she stopped saying Ack. I tried zucchini once more--same result. The little thing was letting me know that she was not doing the vegetables tonight. I did keep trying for awhile, but eventually had to give up and go get a peach and mush it up with her veggies. Then she ate every last bite without one Ack. My dad and I could not stop laughing at her once we figured out what was happening.
