One year. It seems like she's always been here. Then again, it seems like she just arrived.
Hard to believe how much she has changed in just a short twelve months. She's gone from a sleepy, snuggly newborn to a happy, hyper toddler who is starting to repeat words, learning to take steps, and beginning to demand what she wants. Oh, how we love this sweet girl!
Her birthday party was Saturday, and it was great fun. She really enjoyed all the people. She was a little overwhelmed by all the presents, though.
But the next day, she explored each and every one. I'll post more about her birthday party later, with some great pictures that my friend Megan took.
In the past month, Emma Grace has really started becoming less of a baby and more of a toddler. She's getting good at walking. I'm expecting her first step any day now.
This girl has cut 6 new teeth in about 6 weeks, bringing our total up to 12. She has 3 of her molars, and the 4th will be coming in any day. One tiny tip is already poking through. She's done better with these teeth than the first 6. No waking up at night and only a little crankiness during the day. Maybe she's glad to get them all over with at once!
Using those new chompers |
At her 12-month checkup, she was 24 lbs., 3 oz. and 32 inches long. Still above 95th percentile for height! And her weight has moved up from 50-75% to 75-90%. Doctor said she looks good and is doing just great. He recommended we take her off the bottle, and she has done well with that transition. It was a little sad packing up all her bottles the other day.
I realized I never posted pictures of Emma Grace's Easter fun, so here are a few of those to close with:
