Can you believe that Emma Grace is due in just one week?! We can't! It just doesn't seem real that very soon Jacob and I will have a permanent little fixture living with us. Here are the updates for this week.
First, 39 weeks means that Emma Grace is a full-grown baby girl. Her brain is still developing rapidly, and her skin has turned from pink to white. She's still active as ever - in fact, the other day she was kicking so much you'd think she actually had room in there to maneuver. Not too much else is changing with her. She is just getting more ready to come out!
We saw the doctor on Monday, and he said that she is so low that she's basically out. However, my cervix is still posterior and closed (sigh), blocking her way. But, he also said that that doesn't mean labor is far away. It could happen any time. So, we're still just playing the waiting game. I've been having contractions pretty frequently the past few days, and hopefully that is prepping me to go into real labor soon! The nursery is ready, the pack and play is set up and stocked, my disability paperwork is in, and my hospital bag is packed. I'm ready for this girl to get here!
And, to finish with more pictures, here are some of my favorites from our maternity shoot the other day! A big thanks to Megan Chambers for taking these great pictures!
