It's hard to believe that I'm nearing the halfway point of pregnancy! My belly is attesting to the fact, albeit ever so slightly. Jacob and I are still trying to nail down a girl's name, but we have it fairly narrowed down to a select few. Unless I change my mind...again. It will be most helpful to find out if BT is a boy or girl--then we'll know if we need to keep working on names or not! I always thought a boy name would be harder to pick, but we settled on that pretty fast. There are just so many pretty girls' names.
As for the BT update, I have started feeling little flutters every now and then that I am almost certain are BT and not gas. It feels like little wings brushing me or something little fingers poking. Some days BT is more active than others. I'm still waiting to feel that first good kick, but I guess my little one is still too small. I tend to feel BT more on the left side than the right--that must be where he or she likes to wiggle around.
Would you believe that BT is approximately 6 inches long?! That's the size of a sub sandwich! Finally, this small one is starting to really grow. Apparently, BT has also developed a protective coating over its skin called "vernix caseosa." This coating protects my little one from the amniotic fluid that surrounds it. Other than the continuing refinement of little limbs and body systems, not much else has occurred.
I'm foreseeing that I will soon be surpassing my normal clothes, so if anyone has any good places to find cheap maternity clothes, please share. My current maternity wardrobe could get me through a week or so. Also, join us in looking forward to Nov. 22--gender ultrasound day! I plan on drinking a Coke or some orange juice that morning so that we get the best chance of seeing BT's goods! We cannot wait to find out! Then all the fun of nursery planning and registering begins!
