Our Emma Grace is 23 weeks today! She is still quite the mover and shaker, and has developed a funny new habit. While I'm sleeping, she makes her way to the front of my stomach, usually the right side, and I wake up with significant pressure in that area. I can feel her little hard self cuddled right there. As soon as I'm up and moving, though, she slips away and I usually don't feel her until mid-morning.
At 23 weeks, Emma Grace is about the size of a large mango (just over a pound) and is approximately 11 inches long. Little blood vessels in her lungs are developing which will help her be able to breathe in 17 more weeks when she's born. She's also about to start some serious weight gain - by week 27, she'll be twice the weight she is now. So look for my expanding belly coming your way! Right now, she's see-through, but once her fat fills in she'll no longer be the invisible woman.
In other news, we've decided on a bedding set for Emma Grace. You can see it here:
And here is a shot of the comforter and then the bumpers up close:
We are going to paint the walls of the room green, and then we have lots of fun colors to play with from the bedding! I'll probably hang the comforter on the wall as a decoration. We also bought little letters that spell "Emma Grace" last week to hang on the wall, once I add polka dots and ribbon. As we begin working on the nursery, I'll post some pictures!
I think that's all our news for now. We are looking forward to meeting our little girl!
